Eco-Art Therapy
Philadelphia and Beyond
“When you’re outside, you just feel good. Nature just takes the edge off all the things you’re dealing with. Mother nature is our co-therapist. We just hang out with her and let her be our guide.”
Dana Rummery
Nature is for everyone.
This season of life for you has been really hard. Really hard.
Physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
You show up as often as you can for those who need it, share a hug, a laugh, a smile.
And it matters, and it counts.
And at the same time, it can feel like the same ol’, same ol’. Day in and day out of struggle, overwhelm, grief, and exhaustion.
The hardest part, is that we’re not in control of the season.
We can’t always change the course of what’s going on in the lives of those you care for. You do the best you can.
The rest you can’t control.
Sometimes, just talking about it isn’t enough.
Sometimes we need to find ways to cope (pull on those hat and gloves).
We can find ways to create change in our lives to LIVE through this difficult season.
A little more squirrely, together.
Specialized Eco-Art Therapy can help YOU or your loved one feel a heck of a lot more chipper.
Maybe you start to see that old zip back in your step, maybe your loved one is a little more squirrely, a little more sharp…
If you’re caring for young ones or elders, we’ll help you BOTH connect around something fun and meaningful.
What if you actually start to smile over a simple memory, you feel a mindset and mood shift…and it transforms the day to day for everyone involved.
And that means everything to you.
Everything.
And it’s all possible, with Eco-Art Therapy sessions. We can work in family groups and/or you can take care of YOU!
Let’s actually have FUN again.
My main goal when using Eco-Art Therapy is for you to find joy, meaningfulness, and a pep back in your step again.
Eco-Art Therapy isn’t just about me being a nature lover. I think a lot of us are nature lovers!
This is also about bringing in a huge amount of passion, expertise, and framework to help you actually find relief while connecting with something we all have in common…..
Mother Nature! And she has a lot of peace to offer!
We are actually going to spend time in or with Nature and help you feel better.
Plain and simple.
I’m all about helping you weather these changing seasons in your life and the lives of those you love.
Sometimes Nature is warm, full of life and it's easy to appreciate. Others it's cold, quiet, and the joys are hidden, but it mirrors how hard these struggles can be. The beauty, joy, and life are still all around us in every season.
We can recognize that we can’t control all things about life’s changes but learn to weather the seasons.
Just like the trees take energy from their leaves in Autumn, letting them Fall away, so can they store energy for the Winter.
They take care of themselves, to prepare for a New Season of growth. We can learn from the trees and change with the seasons.
We can find meaning, in any season of life, and when we can tap into all of this…
a transformation can happen.
No matter how old we get. At every age. Absolutely.
What does this look like?
If you/your beloved elder can walk, then walk and talk therapy is wonderful. We walk, talk, and bring in nature, therapeutically, to connect and create change.
In virtual sessions anywhere in Pennsylvania, I will help guide through phone call or video chat to engage in nature and art (ex. meditative walks over the phone - walk and talk virtually).
I bring materials to you/your loved one in the home and connect with the nature always around. This way change can continue in between sessions.
We can go outside somewhere enjoyable, or right around where you live. You/your loved one don’t have to go far to get the benefits Mother Nature has to offer.
And just a little recap on the benefits:
Eco-Art Therapy helps with mindset shifts, releases negative ways of thinking, relief around depression and anxiety, an increase in feelings of purpose, meaningfulness, and positive thoughts around this season in life.
A heads up: Where are in-nature and in-home sessions held?
In-nature and in-home Eco-Art and Art Therapy sessions are conducted in North West Philadelphia and Wissahickon Park, and within a 5 mile radius of both. Contact me if you live more than 5 miles outside of these areas. Virtual sessions can be held anywhere in Pennsylvania.
